Packing safety equipment in your backpack for easy access

There is certain equipment that you should have with you on every ski tour

This includes an avalanche transceiver, an avalanche probe and a shovel. It is also useful to have a saw, which admittedly does not class as safety equipment but can be used to check the structure and condition of the snow layers and thus better assess your current situation. The avalanche transceiver is always worn under your clothes, as close to the body as possible. All other items are transported in the backpack without further packaging so that they are instantly ready for use in an emergency.
